Co-Author –>To Be Or Not To Be

Occasionally,  I am asked what made me decide to be a co-author in a book, and I explained writing a book is always something I wanted to do. But I knew that writing a entire book, would be a bit much, after all writing on your personal blog and writing a book is two different things.  So I decided to share a couple things that helped me decide to go ahead and take the leap to be a part of a book. Here are a couple pros for being a part of a book: Value – the value of what you share will bring a new light to you. Time saver – you will not have to worry about writing a entire book, as a co-author you will be responsible for writing a chapter, the amount of words will depend on the compiler or publisher. Connection – the connection you will make will be great, you will connect with the authors in the book, as well as authors throughout the world. Support – you will be supported by fellow authors on this journey. There are many reason to be a part of a book, it is an experience, and it should help open the door for possibilities on a solo book project for you. The Journey to be a Professional Speaker

The journey to be a professional speaker started for me a long time ago. When I really think back to the first time I had to speak I front of a group of people, I realize that I’ve been speaking for a long time. I started speaking to groups of people, when I became Captain of the Varsity Cheerleading Squad in High School. It wasn’t until college, that I was back to speaking  in front of a group of 20 students. At that time, I was enrolled in an accelerated degree program, so every class (except for accounting) we were required to present our PowerPoint presentations to the class. You can imagine that since I was a cheerleader, I had no problem projecting my voice to the students in the back of the class. So when someone asks, how long have I been speaking in front of groups, I can say I’ve been speaking for a long time, but I wasn’t pursuing it professional at those times. It’s interesting when you really have to think about how, and when it all started for you, your mind will really bring you back to the beginning of it all. Do not despise the day of small beginnings! ~ Zechariah 4:10   Share...
